Well I have just decided that I am going to stop blogging for a while, I know my blogger life was short lived but I really do not have time to blog. School, friends, family, and outings leaves me with very little time for blogging. I will probably be back or I'll post occasionally but nothing too serious. But who would've known it was the subject for the next editorial in Vogue Italia. This December Steven Meisel teamed up with the hottest models to make one of the most creative editorials ever in my opinion. I'm back! Thanksgiving was awesome and very relaxing but now I'm back to reality. Piles of AP History to study, a pre calculus project, an English essay, a layout for yearbook due, and 175 bloglovin' posts to read.

Yesterday I went with my friend so meet Betsey Johnson. It was pretty cool but I wasn't nearly as starstruck as when I saw Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power. For one, the line to meet her was extremely long, but the cupcakes that were given out did cheer me up a bit. Since there was so many people I couldn't even talk to her it was a quick hug and a picture but I was satisfied. Also, sorry for the overly edited pictures, even though I hate doing that, it was necessary for these pictures. Miami weather, leather jacket, 1,000 people packed in one room, we all know the end result, sweat! Therefore, the pictures needed to be edited in order for me not to look completely gross.

Who knew Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield, Grace Coddington, Annie Leibovitz and Lady Gaga would some day come together and make an amazing editorial for Vogue. The most shocking part is who actually wanted Gaga in Vogue. Anna Wintour! I know its a little hard to believe. Well the final product is gorgeous, how do you feel about Hansel and Gretel gone glam?

Today there is no school and for some reason I've been feeling kind of blah. I drank some hot chocolate even though its 80 degrees here in Miami, listened some Shakira and Lady Gaga, read my daily dose of blogs and magically felt better. However, what I think changed my mood from blah to wow was Erika from Fashion Chalet. Her collage incorporates everything from Atlanta to Daria to the Wang braid which consequently made me feel better. On a final note, watch the new Lady Gaga video for Bad Romance, it's awesome and I love her so much more just for wearing Alexander McQueen's infamous "Armadillo" shoes.

The simple “definition” of fashion is nothing but a negligible accumulation of words put together in an attempt to describe something so wondrous that it is unfathomable to the human mind. I for one, at the age of ten began to ruthlessly criticize everyone’s superficial opinions towards the fashion industry. I looked beyond the stereotypical, shallow image of the fashionista and saw the phenomenal, magical world of fashion as an art and its constituents as gods.

For instance, Karl Lagerfeld, being one of these mystical gods, does much more than what his job description as creative director of Chanel entails; he salvaged the label after Coco Chanel’s death and transformed it into one of the most successful brands to date. Similarly, Alexander Wang is also on my top designer list due to the fact he has been able to accomplish great things despite the brevity of his career. These two pictorial gods are without a doubt my favorite designers.

After five years of being unambiguously obsessed with fashion I have established favorites. Calvin Klein’s SS06 collection being one of them. This collection was the first I ever saw and it gave birth to my love of fashion. Francisco Costa’s clean-cut, pastel-colored dresses let me know at a young age how surreal fashion could be. Despite the foundations of my fashion fascination, I am usually clad in blacks and grays. My personal style is just as hard to define as fashion is. I consider myself a fashion chameleon, one who adapts and changes depending on her surroundings. I am also inspired by everything around me, especially music. Music has the power to alter my mood and therefore the way I dress everyday. However, I usually gravitate towards the dark, and edgy styles like those of Balmain. To this day, I still feel the same exuberance for fashion, as if it were the very day of its inception. Despite the fact that the world of fashion is still obscure to me, I will never surrender to its mystery.

Who What Wear Book Signing

This past Thursday, my friends and I eagerly went to Miami's design district to get my Who What Wear book signed by Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power. Shockingly, we got there and there was almost no one, because the Miami population is mostly about parties and little about fashion. So we walk in nervously and I see them, the two girls that I had admired for almost a year were right in front of me. I was stupidly starstruck but the two girls were so nice that I felt comfortable around them. They asked my name and they tried to make small talk. Then, the highest point of the whole meeting was when the one and only Katherine Power asked to take a picture of us because we were "so darn cute". So she takes a picture of us and puts it on twitter! Overall, the day was great and I even had time to slip in a few interview questions.

Isabella: Why don't you have a twitter?
Hillary: Well, I've always been the one that doesn't like technology that much. I was one of the last ones to get an email, I don't have a TV and Katherine was the one that convinced me to finally upgrade to a blackberry.

Why did you guys decide to make Who What Wear?
Katherine and Hillary: Well we met at Elle and became friends from there, then we started noticing the large amounts of celebrity gossip sites but the lack of fashion sites. We decided to become the Perez Hilton's of the fashion industry and show day to day fashion looks on celebrities.

What do you want to be for Halloween?
Katherine: Well my boyfriend looks a little like Don Draper from Mad Men so I'm trying to convince him to dress up like him so I can be Betty and have an excuse to buy a cute vintage frock.

Hillary used to be a cheerleader when she was younger.

I'm Isabella, I live in Miami and although it is a big city I still feel as if I'm not living up to my potential in the fashion industry. I'm only fifteen but I wish I could be writing for a magazine right now. Since that opportunity has passed me by because of my inconsiderate parents I decided to start a blog of my own after much deliberation. Here I will post anything and everything that is linked to my love of fashion and hopefully my readers will follow me until I reach my goal to live in NYC and surround myself with people that share the same interests as me. As for now I'm still young, naïve, and determined to live my life to the fullest.
